Geloy Concepcion
Geloy Concepcion is a Filipino photographer and artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area, known for his raw, human storytelling and his globally acclaimed project Things You Wanted To Say But Never Did.
Born and raised in Pandacan, Manila, he began with street art and murals before turning to photography as a way to capture the voices and everyday struggles of the people around him. His work champions the underdogs and the unheard, blending honesty, intimacy, and a bit of beautiful chaos.
His interactive project, where he overlays anonymous confessions onto old film photos has resonated worldwide for its emotional punch and unfiltered truth. Beyond this, his documentary projects like Reynas delas Flores: Manila’s Golden Gays and Happy Land have earned international recognition.
Geloy’s candid, natural portraits and documentary style have been exhibited across the US, Europe, Japan, Singapore, and Australia. In 2021, he received the prestigious Thirteen Artists Award from the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
